DETROIT MI COMEBACK - JUNE / OCTOBER

The Riverfront in Detroit, along with the rest of the city, has been experiencing a rejuvenation.  This race (usually in June) is just beautiful.  The riverfront walk seems to get longer each year.  Their facebook page shows the many events and pictures of things such as the jumping water fountains for kids to play in.

Hotel Choice:  Detroit Marriott @ the Renaissance Center (GM):  Right on the riverfront, connects to multiple indoor restaurants  like Joe Muer Seafood (great happy hour), Granite City (great Sunday brunch), and is easy access to the people mover.

Great views of Windsor and 2 border crossings (Tunnel and Bridge) – just be sure to bring your passports and consider running the Detroit Free press Marathon and run 2 countries in one race.
