Let's just start by saying that the Inn at Bay Harbor (Autograph Collection - Marriot), is a trip we have been trying to secure with points for a few years. They book up fast, and you almost have to monitor daily for summer dates - which is why we chose to head up before summer when it was a bit more peacful. While we didn't get to enjoy the pool, we did get to walk many trails (20 miles!) and enjoy a lot more without the crowds.

We did not get a chance to get to the main beach area in search of our own Petoskey Stone. Since this is a definite return trip, our goal is to make that a priority next time.

The hotel does have some rentals and a small Sunset Beach area great for weddings or other functions.

Dining Spots:

1. Vintage Chophouse - part of the hotel (we like the name since we resell vintage). Terrific martinis, fantastic views and a great atmosphere.
2. Nomad Bay Harbor - nice atmosphere, great apps, friendly service - drinks were specialized and could not get domestic beer - only craft beer.
3. Knot, just a bar - every day, regular hand out type of place. Large bar and seating area.
4. Beacon Bistro - great views of Lake Michigan - enjoyed the "Detroit" salad - it was quite refreshing and different.
